New release and announcing project JUPITER

August 6, 2012

Just minutes ago NASA successfully managed to land Curiosity on planet Mars. An achievement that will lead to discoveries expected to change the world as we know it. Along those lines we at Proto.io launched our rocket for our next release, codename ‘JUPITER’. Following our first release on the ‘moon’ and our second release on ‘Mars’, next stop is ‘Jupiter’, the 3rd release of our ever travelling mobile app prototyping software.

To fuel up our mission, many changes, improvements and fine tuning had to take place. This happened in the just released v.2.8.4. This recent release includes the implementation of the latest jQueryMobile framework that enables smoother transitions and support for Firefox, a new RichText editor, major performance and memory improvements, live canvas update on property changes, improved saving and saving alerts, editor and player UI improvements, and a lot more bits and pieces. You can find a detailed list here http://proto.io/en/changelog/.

Back to ‘Jupiter’ now. Proto.io is expected to land on Jupiter mid-September. The exact date is unknown due the planet’s extreme weather conditions. What we expect to find on Jupiter is many of your requests for future development to come to reality. We can’t disclose exactly what’s going to be on ‘Jupiter’ for now, but it will ‘move’, it will be ‘smooth’ and it will be for any device! Full details of the release will be announced in September. In the meantime have a great summer!
