Not long ago we successfully launched Proto.io V2. The response and love we received from everyone was overwhelming. Your support and input helped us take mobile prototyping a bit further as promised. Since V2 we released numerous revisions with new UI elements, new device support, and several other new features and improvements. Today, with great joy we would like to announce Proto.io v2.5!
What’s new – Comments and conversations
You can now easily and efficiently communicate with your clients (reviewers) and get instant feedback for your prototypes. The new comments feature allows you and your reviewers to add comments or notes on each prototype screen. Comments can be pinned anywhere on the screen allowing users to discuss specific UI elements or overall functionality. Each comment automatically turns into a conversation thread when people reply. Comments can then be marked as completed or get deleted for easier management.
Comments functionality includes:
– pin comment anywhere on the screen
– selectively send email notifications on every comment
– display markers for unread comments
– filter comments by status (unread, completed, active)
– view comments on screen and in a sidebar for easy access
– publish prototypes for everyone with comments visible
Live Preview – make things a bit silly-faster
Up until now in order to give access to your reviewers, you would need to publish your prototype. That would let you continue working on your project without affecting what reviewers would see. With the comments feature, you would need to publish a prototype every time you get new feedback for your reviewers to see the change. That wouldn’t be so silly-fast would it? Which is why we added Live Preview! Now you have the option to turn Live Preview ON and allow reviewers to view (and comment on) the latest version of the current saved prototype, that way bypassing the publication process.
What’s next?
We are determined to continue revolutionizing the way designers build mobile apps. Proto.io is a living product, meaning that it is constantly under development. We would love to hear your comments, feedback, and suggestions of what you would like to see next from Proto.io. We always listen!
